Why I Stopped Obsessing Over “Clean Eating” and Started Listening to My Body

For a long time, I believed that “clean eating” meant perfection—strict rules, constant judgment, never slipping up. But what I learned is that that energy was doing more harm than good to my skin, mood, and overall wellness.

Over time, I shifted from obsession to instinct. Instead of chasing what I thought was “perfect,” I began listening deeply to what my body was telling me, not my emotions. When I did that, my skin glowed more, inflammation calmed, and I felt free—free from guilt, free from rigid “musts.” There is a lot of conflicting information on the internet.

Stressing over “imperfections” in my pantry

Believing every meal must be “perfect”
